The normal habitat of the Box Beaver is, sadly, fast disappearing. Modern agricultural techniques, the use of chemicals and pesticides, slopped all over the land with gay abandon (hmmmm...thanks Tarq), the invasion of urban plonkers tramping all over our countryside with their "right to roam" shite, has all taken its toll on this peaceful creature's private, and up to now, secluded environment.

Some attempts have been made to breed the Box Beaver in captivity but due to difficulties in replicating their environment and their complex social structure, the experiments were unsuccessful and all of them tended to develop a very aggressive nature.....ain't that the truth !
